But while the immediate needs of the team will be addressed, Regier noted the organization has to remain focused on finding the balance between demands of the present and the future.

“We are looking both short-term needs and we’re looking long-term because we’ve got a number of players that we want to sign and we want to keep here,” he said. “Players that are big contributors now to our hockey club and there are also players down the road... It’s a combination of the short-term picture, the immediate needs and then the long-term. We want to make sure we address both sides of that.

“I remain hopeful.”

Hey, das ist aber mal ein gutes Signing zu Beginn der UFA Phase. Lalime als backup, das sorgt ein wenig für Entlastung bei Miller.

So kann es weitergehen...

Die anderen Trades stehen alle auf TSN, Sportsnet oder eliteprospects, den mit Lalime hab ich aber auf sportsnet nicht gesehn, weil ich da nur beim Signing Tracker war, also nix da -.-

Habe ich leider was vergessen, die EDIT geht ja bei mir nicht mehr...!

Die Sabres haben sich mit Miller zusammengesetzt und die ersten Vertragsverhandlungen begonnen, um ihm mit einem multi-year auszustatten, bevor er nächsten Sommer UFA wird. Laut Darcy laufen die Gespräche bisher gut, ebenso mit Jason Pominville, mit dem man das gleiche vor hat wie mit Miller.

Kurz was von Darcy:

Platz im Cap wäre also noch genügend, natürlich muss man jetzt erst abwarten, was noch mit Miller und Pominville passiert!

Jau, sehr gute Sache, 2.3 Mille $ pro Jahr sind zwar für ihn mMn schon recht viel, aber er hat stetig gute Leistungen gezeigt. Jetzt am besten noch Numminen und/oder Kalinin signen (wobei ich glaube, dass sie sich nur im Teppo bemühen werden...) und ein Teil der ''Sommerarbeit'' wäre erfolgreich erledigt.

Laut Darcy will man sich in der UFA Phase sehr stark auf die Center konzentrieren, sogar wenn möglich mehr als einen signen. Bie den Winger ist anscheinend nur ein RF im Gespräch und defensiv will man sich vorerst auf einen Spieler beschränken, da man abwarten will, was mit Numminen und Kalinin passiert.

Bin mal gespannt, wen die da schon im Kopf haben...

Ich hoffe, dass sie wenigstens Teppo oder Kalinin halten können.

Defensive Spieler werden ja einige frei, z.B. fielen mir da Vandermeer, Hedican, Streit oder Berard ein, sofern sie nicht doch schon Verträge unterschrieben haben.

Hört sich gut an.

Bin mal gespannt, was aus Numminen, Kalinin, Pratt, Ryan und Thibault wird...! Dass letzterer gehen wird ist ziemlich sicher, auch Pratt kann gerne die Büffel verlassen. Hoffe nur, dass sich noch etwas bei Ryan, Teppo und Kalinin tun wird!
